Shout! Awards 2012: winner list

Who is the next big thing in our music industry? There are stars at birth, with a growing number of admirers, while some are no strangers to hits. Everything they touch turns to gold. Television shows continue to push the envelope and exhibit plenty of calibre and breed of entertainment. On the big screen Malaysian movies display a new found maturity and cinematic excellence.

This year, along with the sixteen awards that span the four categories, Shout! Awards is introducing two new awards - the SHOUT! Aloud Award and Wired Celebrity Award.

The SHOUT! Aloud Award is given out as recognition to Malaysians who have contributed content to the weird & wonderful world of social media for others to enjoy. The award is for some of the most popular video blogs (vlogs).

Wired Celebrity Award is recognition to the single most inspiring Malaysian celebrity who has made the most social impact on social media (Blog, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Foursquare & YouTube).

The Top 5 nominees of the social media awards will be the result of a comprehensive judging by the judges of the most social media connected celebrities.

This is our call to everyone from the music TV, film and radio industries and the social media scene to nominate the most deserving talent of the year.

Polar bears are running out of room

Right now, in dens throughout the Arctic, polar bear mothers are giving birth to a new generation of cubs. Birthing season in the Arctic usually spans the chilly months of November and December, but as polar bear families grow this winter, so does the threat to their unique and fragile environment.

Threats to the polar bears, and the entire Arctic region, will not go away on their own. That is why Coca-Cola is partnering with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to create a place that polar bears can call home. When completed, this new "Arctic Home" will be twice the size of Texas.

For just a few minutes of your time, you too can help make the "Arctic Home" a reality. For every video view on Coca-Cola's cause page, $1 (up to $50,000) will go toward helping WWF's "Arctic Home" project create a place where polar bears and local communities can thrive.

With your help, "Arctic Home" will raise awareness and funds to protect polar bears for generations to come.
