SL1M Traineeship Celcom Axiata Berhad Experience

As my previous post talked about the interview session for SL1M Traineeship Celcom Axiata Berhad, and this post is about my experience in this traineeship program. 

Induction Day

Once you accepted for this program, there will be 1 day induction at Celcom Axiata Infinity Centre (CAIC) located at KL Sentral. For the central region here is the training center, but for the other region, I am not sure about it.

Basically what will happen during induction day is ice breaking session, overview about the company, HR Business Partner, overview of SL1M evaluation tools, SL1M benefits, HRMS training, brief on the IT related in terms of security, and brief on safety health and environment. 

The best part is when you attend training here, they will provide you with breakfast, lunch and tea break. So, you save your budget for that day. Other than that, we also can claim our transportation for training day, and induction is a part of training as well.

To conclude the induction day, it is not a boring session, yet it is fun session with fun and energetic trainer. During this day also we can understand more about the company and their business practice as well.

Half-day Briefing 

On the second day, you will have a half-day briefing from HR. The PIC will tell you who is your superior, which floor you will be located, the facilities in the office, registration of the access card, and registration of the company mobile line. After that, HR staff, will bring you to your intermediate superior. From here, you are officially be in your department, and your superior will brief you about your task.

Kisah Aku : Perasaan Seminggu Sebelum Masuk Kerja

Kalau ikutkan masa, dah lama sebenarnya aku menganggur. Habis belajar officially January 2016, dan harini dah masuk hujung bulan July. Masuk bulan 8 nanti aku dah start kerja dengan company telco di Kuala Lumpur. Biasa lah bila dah lama "CUTI" perasaan nak sangat kerja tu dah datang. Bukan apa, sebenarnya dah takde duit, tu je. Cumanya sekarang ni nak kena lah biasakan diri bangun awal, dah selalu bangun time orang nak lunch. Padahal bukannya tak pernah kerja sebelum ni, tapi bila dah cuti lama sangat ni rasa dia dah lain. Memang masa menganggur dulu tengah fresh graduate, so orang kata tengah rehat. Tapi ada jugak orang yang tak faham bahasa, bila kata tak keje lagi ni respond diorang macam menghina je. Orang kata nak buat macam mana, mulut orang kan?. Memang mulut orang, tapi hati aku yang rasa dihina ni. Takpe lah yang penting aku tak kacau orang. Berbalik kepada tajuk "perasaan seminggu sebelum masuk kerja" ni, bukannya apa pun, cuma untuk tatapan diri sendiri bila dah kerja nanti. Baru tahu susah rupanya aku cari kerja. Takpe kita cuba bersusah-susah dahulu. Berbaki 7 hari sebelum aku masuk kerja, apa yang aku nak buat?. Biasanya rutin bangun lambat, pegi gym(ada kisah disebaliknya), layan variety show, movie, atau pun mengangkang depan tv. Kadang2 keluar dengan kawan se-menganggur jugak, luahan perasaan katanya. Lepas ni benda2 macam ni dah jarang boleh buat. Seharusnya dalam masa2 yang ada ni buat lah apa2 persediaan atau pun selesaikan perkara2 yang tertangguh ni. Takkan lah dah kerja nanti selalu nak minta cuti je kan. Silap2 diorang bagi cuti selamanya. Jadi dalam masa 7 hari ni rutin seperti biasalah pregi gym (lepas ni silap2 dah malas, balik terus terlentang), servis kereta (tengok bajet dulu), dan buatlah apa2 yang patut. Paling penting sekali, sediakan mental dan fizikal. Maklumlah budak baru, kalau tak diusik mental dan fizikal tu tak sah. Learning process katanya. Masa akan datang bila baca balik mesti aku akan tergelak macam aku baca post2 yang terdahulu. Dah tu je, Kbai..

Celcom Axiata SL1M Interview

I wrote this post as part of my interview experience where it might be useful for those going to have an interview for SL1M Traineeship Program.

At first, I was not expected to join SL1M (Skim Latihan 1 Malaysia) program with Celcom Axiata Berhad. I am fresh graduate from one of the private university in Kuala Lumpur majoring in E-Business. I did my internship before, at the just start-up private company in KL. I have been offered to continue work with them, but for some circumstances in the company, I made a decision to leave the company. Then, I keep looking for a job using the one and only trusted jobs portal "JobStreet", and I went few interview with various of company in klang valley. However, most of the result were disappoint me. Later on, I saw job advertisements "SL1M Traineeship program" with Celcom Axiata Berhad. 

How did I apply?

I apply this position from the Jobstreet.com and they were respond very fast than other company did. It's took approximately 1 week to be invited to the interview session. I'm not sure whether they do filter the application or not, because you gonna get an invitation by email to the walk-in interview at Menara Celcom.

Interview Session

My experience the interview for this position is very easy as you have to answer confidently what they asks. There would be 2 stages which is 1st is interview with HR where they will ask general question about yourself, education background, your interest (they will assign your department based on your interest), and my advice is be a bit friendly with them where you will have an active conversation. 

Once you are finish for the 1st stage, you have to wait for the 2nd stage, where they will call you in a group of 5 (can be more or less) to discuss your opinion. At this stage, you are given a topic such as "advantages and drawback of the technology" (Real topic during my interview). The hint is, give your opinion and talk confidently, and it's took less than 30 minutes. End of the interview.

How long it's take to know the result?

You will notice the result by phone call within 2 - 3 weeks. If you accept the offer then they will release your offer letter by email.

Planning....

Suddenly trip.. Pada mulanya kitorang plan nak pergi Pulau Perhentian. Tapi most of people said, pulau perhentian pergi redah je, mana ada planning untuk ke sana. Chalet pun susah nak pick up phone kalau call dorang. Jadi disebabkan aku ni high-end person yang nak everything is completely ready, cancel je lah pulau perhentian ni.. Then kitorang pun target Penang as our destination.

Benda ni sebenarnya plan masa tengah exam week. Orang lain sibuk study ( Study lah sangatttt...), kitorang sibuk cari hotel dengan usha2 harga tiket flight.. So, aku pun search lah dekat AirAsiaGo untuk package hotel + flight, sangat affordable price. TETAPI website AirAsiaGo not accept debit card. The payment method only by credit card. Online banking pun tak boleh.  Agak-agak lah beb. So, cancel guna AirAsiaGo punya package, aku direct guna AirAsia untuk flight ticket and call hotel directly. Kira2 total harga OK lah.. still under budget.. Ape lagi book je lah.. 3 hari 2 malam je..

20/5/2015 adalah hari untuk pergi bercuti.. yay!! lama agaknya tak pergi bercuti, agak excited lah cerita dia..  Kitorang berkumpul (pergi 3 orang je pun) kat KL Sentral sebab dekat dengan rumah, lagi pun situ kan memang hub untuk nak ke KLIA2 (Fly dengan AirAsia). Kitorang pun choose KLIA transit untuk ke KLIA2. Harga RM35 adult, but kitorang guna Siswa Card dapat 30% discount (Gunakan apa yang dah di bagi), but still mahal lah bagi student. yang memang travel ikut budget macam kitorang ni..(sampai sana tak ingat dunia juga berbelanja). Padahal ade je option lain macam bas, tapi tak nak naik bas, nak KLIA transit jugak.. Layankan jelah nafsu buas berbelanja..

Sampai KLIA2, masuk lah departure hall, first kena lepas kastam dulu. Pengalaman lalu mengatakan tak perlu nk berfesyen sangat kalau nak fly, sebab nanti terhegeh2 nak tanggalkan semua item yang boleh menyebabkan sensor tu berbunyi.. Tak terpasal nanti kena raba dengan kastam tu.. Ramai yang terhegeh2 buka belt..

Lepas kastam, berjalan lah ke departure gate, as u know ramai yang complaint KLIA2 sangat besar dan perlu berjalan jauh. It's true!!! Cari gate macam nak treasure hunt.. Dah jumpa gate, masuk dan tunggu lah announcement untuk boarding., Once announcement release, kitorang pun enter the plane and ready to fly.. Bila dah tiga orang ni mulalah nak berebut seat, rebut lah seat tepi tingkap tu.. sekali rupanya gayat.. Hahaha rasakan..

Finally Penang...

Finally reach Penang island for food hunter. Sampai pun dah petang dan tak makan pun lagi since kat KL, so kitorang naik bas to reach our hotel and check in.

Our hotel is not as other hotel, it's hostel style which they have kitchen, pool table, television, PC with internet connection, dan tempat untuk melepak lah siap ade vending machine, so kalau nak air tengah2 malam tu turun je beli.. Hostel ni sangat sesuai untuk orang muda.. Harga pun affordable untuk facilities yang best macam tu.

1st Day

Lepas check in, kitorang keluar cari makan sebab dah kebulur giler.. Masa tu memang dah terfikir Nasi Kandar penang mai punya.. So tanya lah receptionist hostel tu kat mana boleh dapat nasi kandar yang best.. Sekali rupanya tak jauh dari hostel tu terletaknya Restoran Nasi Kandar Line Clear.. Ape lagi macam binatang buas lah perangai masing2.. Rasa macam bulan puasa je jalan cari makan petang2.. Maklumlah kebulur dari KL bawa ke Penang.. Sampai kat Nasi Kandar Line Clear, nasib baik masa tu tak ade orang pun sebab dah pukul 4 petang lebih, waktu lunch pun dah lama habis, tunggu orang balik kerja je nanti serbu tempat ni. Kitorang pun tanpa melengahkan masa, pilih lauk dan terus duduk.. Lepas je kitorang duduk, ramai yang beratur belakang.. Nasib baik cepat.. Selain nasi kandar line clear ni, ada lagi satu yang famous, nasi kandar beratur, tetapi hanya buka dari pukul 10 malam.. Siang memang tak buka.

Lepas makan, kitorang jalan2 dekat kawasan tu.. Bangunan di penang ni masih kekal dengan architecture lama.. Cantik lah.. Lepas jalan2, balik hostel lepak kat sana.. Lepak kat bawah tu bentang map and discuss for tomorrow activities.. Habis tu kitorang main lah uno jenga tu. Tapi kitorang agak bodoh sebab tak tahu rules uno, so decide rules sendiri ikut warna, nombor dan bentuk yang sama je.. Bosan main tu, layan DVD Maze runner sampai tengah malam. Then decide masuk bilik dan tidur sebab esoknya nak bangun awal nak berjalan satu hari..

2nd Day

Bangun pagi awal pukul 9 (awal lah untuk aku yang selalu bangun tengah hari) sebab nak keluar pukul 10. First decide nak ke Jalan Kapitan Keling, so kitorang tunggu free shuttle bus kat komtar untuk ke destinasi. Best about Penang especially in Georgetown, they provide free shuttle bus. It's very convenient.. Jimat sikit for transportation.

Jalan2 kat sana sebab nak cari cat cafe yang terletak di lebuh muntri. Cari punya cari jumpa juga kat celah2 lorong. Then masuklah cafe tu and we have to spend at least one drink per person. Tempat dia best dan sangat selesa rasa macam nak baring2 je bergolek kat situ sebab penat berjalan. Kat cat cafe ni ada banyak kucing dan kita boleh main2 dengan kucing tu..

Masa menunjukkan waktu makan. Dah lapar katanye.. Cari kedai makan banyak je tapi memilih je.. Then sampai kat lebuh cannon, lunch kat cafe vegetarian. Uncle cafe tu friendly sangat dan baik sangat. Tanya uncle tu air ape yang banyak kat cafe dia (sebab dah haus giler, nak yang banyak), di suggest panas2 tu dia bagi air tea barley free refill banyak mana pun boleh.. Baik uncle tu..

Settle lunch, kitorang jalan kaki nak ke hostel balik, tapi sebelum tu singgah beli cendol teochew yang famous tu siap beratur panjang lagi.. tapi puas sangat. harga pun tak mahal, beli bungkus RM 2.70 dapat penuh satu mangkuk kat hostel. Kacang cendol tu besar2 dan banyak. Memang tak kedekut tokey tu..

Lepas makan cendol, masuk bilik rehat2 kejap, petang tu keluar balik nak pergi padang kota lama. katanya makanan kat situ best2.. Kitorang pun pergi situ dan makan pasembor dan char kuey tiaw.. Agak kenyang jugak lah.. Harga tak payah cerita, sebab nafsu membelakangi budget.

Lepas tu balik hostel kejap then keluar balik malam tu nak cari live band, receptionist hostel suggest kat lebuh chulia tu banyak pub dab live band yang ade.. so lepak sambil cuci mata.. Then balik hostel jalan kaki dan masuk bilik..

3rd Day

Check out at 12pm dan naik bas pergi queensbay mall dulu sebab flight petang. Masuk situ lunch dulu then pusing2 dalam tu. Pukul 4pm macam tu gerak pergi ke airport dan tunggu je lah masa untuk di panggil masuk. Sebelum pergi kat gate, lepak Dunkin' Donuts dan baru pergi kat gate dan tunggu boarding announcement. Then it's time to fly back to KL.. Sampai KLIA2, jalan agak jauh juga nak ke KLIA transit station.. Purchase ticket and wait for a train. Finally naik train balik ke KL Sentral dan balik lah kerumah masing2..

Itulah kisah 3 hari  2 malam di Penang yang tak seberapa untuk tatapan aku sendiri di masa hadapan.. Kadang2 tengok balik ape yang aku buat sebelum ni rasa macam memory yang boleh buat aku gelak ketawa..

Final Exam Has Finished

Yeah.. finally my final exam for this semester has finished.. This semester is quite tough because most of the paper is core subject.. However still I have to seat for this paper. My exam timetables is not as good as before. Even though the schedule shows  far gap in between, and I'm should be happy because I have a time to study, but I'm not really happy with the schedule.. I have only 5 paper to seat and it's take 2 weeks to finish the exam.. However I'm glad I have finish all paper and now I'm in my holiday..

One day journey in Kuala Lumpur

Based on the title actually I am already in KL since primary school, but normally just going to Mall only.. Ya I'm hate sunburn.. Yesterday my friend and I traveled KL by KL Hop-on Hop-off bus.. We bought 24 hour passes to going to somewhere in KL..

The first place that we went is National Museum. The place where you learn history.. Even we have been here before, but its a long time ago.. So as long as we are "buta sejarah" so we go for the second time maybe or can said first time after few three years leave a school..

The ticket price is very cheap RM 2 for Malaysian and RM 5 for foreigner.. They also have a guide tour which is free.. The day and time depends on the language. For English (monday - thursday & saturday at 10 am), French (tuesday & thursday at 10 am), Japanese (thursday at 10 am), Malay & Mandarin (saturday *only in school holidays at 10 am), and for other language are available on request..

Finish for the national museum we continue our journey to National Palace.. It is new palace at Jalan Duta..

At the national palace we can't enter the palace but only can take a picture at front of the gate.. We are given 10 minute to take a picture..

The weather is very hot.. and also sunburn.. 

Finish National Palace we went to KLCC because i want an aircond while find some food for lunch.. Reach the KLCC its very crowded with a people because its public holiday for Chinese New Year.. Have no place to eat.. All place already full, or if you want to, you can queue for a seat.. Then we decide to go to Pavilion by walking.. There have a bridge that connected between KLCC and Pavilion, and the important thing is aircond.. We walked uuntil pavilion and and reach the foodcourt, because if the and I'm found char kway teow at the Thye Hong stall..

Even I have to queue for a few minutes, but the char kway teow is very delicious with a sambal.. Next time I'm suppose to get an extra sambal.. 

After  finish our lunch, we continue our journey taking the same bus and stop at the KL Sentral.. We taking a KTM (train) to the Midvalley one of the popular shopping center in kuala lumpur.. We're very tired after traveled in kl, we take a break at with some sausage bun with the favorite drink "Chatime"..

Midvalley is our last destination for our journey.. Next time maybe if we have enough money we want to travel to the other region in Malaysia..

Tiba-tiba... cam ape je title ni..

Hari ini ada kelas pukul 12pm.. Actually not a class but meeting for final project.. Dalam meeting tu ada isu yang membangkit pasal orang tua tu.. Siap nak undi paksa pulak.. Tapi tak payah lah cerita kat sini, nanti kena bash pulak.. So continue je lah dengan apa yang berlaku.. Miss suruh lah sorang2 jumpa dia cerita idea untuk biz. Dia minta lah reason why u want to do this biz. So tunjuklah kat dia.. 5 reason 1 je approve 4 lagi kena reject.. Haih.. kalau kat twitter ni dah #sedey.. Tapi nasib baik miss ade bagi idea juga for reason..  Then bila continue meeting balik dah macam2 hal lah pulak.. ape pun tak boleh.. Boss cakap buat, buat je lah.. Habis je meeting masing2 dah lapar.. Bila tanye nak makan kat mane punyalah susah nak jawab.. Suddenly decide "merrybrown ".. Punyalah dasyat perangai sampai ke time square cari makan.. tahan pulak lapar tu kan.. Bila dah ke TS tu confirm akan merayap.. Merayap cuci2 mata.. Time2 CNY ni lah yang best cuci mata, time raya biasa tak best sangat.. hahaha *hanya kami je yang tahu maksud cuci mata.. Hahaha.. Bila dah penat tu duduk lah kat foodcourt.. Cepat pulak penat nye.. Nak buat macam mana mengusung laptop merayap.. selalu beg besar2 bawa towel je.. hahaha.. Bila tengah duduk2 macam2 lah isu keluar lagi2 bila ade perempuan fake kat depan.. memang isu membangkitlah.. Then suddenly plan lah nak kuar CNY ni, punya lah hebat planning nak naik bus hop on hop off bagai2 lah, klo pakai ic dapat murah.. Tiba2 je member aku cakap "eh! aku takde ic lah" kahkahkahkahkah.. ic takde ade hati nak jalan becuti jauh2 bagai2.. hancur musnah la semuanya...lalalala

Final Exam are Finished

10 January 2013 is the last day for my final exam.. I am very excited and really want to party like crazy.. Before that I wanna telling you guys what happen on my study week, how  i am study?, or i am really study? on the week.. First of all at the day i am registered my final exam in our college student portal around a few week before exam.. When i am look at my timetable i was happy because it's only 2 days exam for 3 subject.. and luckily for this semester i have no paper on weekend like previous semester.. This is freaking damn when i have to exam on weekend.. It's weekend!! i am suppose to enjoy my weekend.. Thanks God it wont be happened in this semester.. Some of student they have be prepared on them-self for exam a few week before, but for me i don't know why i am not in this category.. Normally i am start do my note to read within a week before.. i am write the note and make it simple as i am understand.. but after finished the note i am suppose to read that note, but i am too lazy and just keep it on side.. I will read them a 2 or three days before an exam.. its quite crazy but i m ok with it.. My first paper is on 4th of January 2013 its friday and the time is 5:00 - 7:00pm it in evening.. but whay??? what to do just follow the timetable.. I am drive my moms car to the college.. when reach a college, i m meet my friend and we have a conversation like we are not worried about exam.. keep talking and laughing.. This is freaking crazy.. but this is who we are.. First paper is ok lah because it is not much difficult to answer.. After we finished our exam, we go back to home but now is around 7:30pm and the road is freaking jam because everybody want to back to their home.. Ya, as we know "HOME SWEET HOME".. we are getting boring while waiting for a jam, we are turned to our crazy mode which is we listen to the radio and sing along like a hell.. I don't know either the other people see what we are doing at that time.. embarrassing.. but who cares..
Second and third paper which is last paper is on 10 January 2013.. Again the timetable is freaking damn.. 8:00 - 10:00am.. the on that day i woke up at 5:50am and my journey start at 6:30am i am get down to the bus-stop waiting for a bus.. its take time around 10 - 15 minutes because it is morning.. i catch my bus and stop at LRT station.. Then i taking lrt direct to my college..  At the college i am direct to the venue and waiting for my friend.. then when we are met there as usual talk, talk, and talk.. but actually we are afraid about the paper.. our paper actually it's suppose to started at 8:00am but we don't know where the exam coordinator is.. Suddenly she is coming and we started at 8:20am and finished at 10:20am.. While look at the question paper suddenly another coordinator come and he replace the first coordinator.. The epic thing is he suppose to sit and keep watch us bu he is going somewhere else.. What? this is a joke? Then everything we have to do with our own.. if you want the extra paper you have to take yourself.. the string to tied up our answer paper also have to take by our own.. This is what we call "self-service exam" everything have to do by your own.. Done for the first paper, but the the second paper at 3:30pm.. Then we went to lunch while waiting for the second paper.. This second paper is freaking difficult.. what we can do just answer as much we know.. and settle finally settle for the final exam.. And now we are already free.. Yeah!! \(^.^)/
